A fascinating article by Vasili Byros appears in Music Theory Online vol. 21, no. 3: ‘Prelude on a Partimento: Invention in the Compositional Pedagogy of the German States in the Time of J. S. Bach.’ The article and its arguments share much in common with my own work, and I was most tickled and pleased to discover that Byros mentions my own 2014 paper on rhetorical pedagogy in composition training. I have officially achieved the status of being a footnote! Read Byros's article here: http://www.mtosmt.org/issues/mto.15.21.3/mto.15.21.3.byros.html
